Am I in the game yet?
Am I in the game yet?
March 6, 2019
As long as we are breathing we are all in the game. The question is what kind of player are you? What kind of performer? What kind of performer do you want to be? Because we all have a choice.
Are you complacent with just living, with just getting by? Would you rather just sit on the bench and doing nothing and point out how the doers stumbled? Or do you want to be great?
We have a choice! And we give up so much of our personal power when we give in to the idea that we have no choice. In reality, we are the product of the choices we make. Everything that happens to us is a result of the choices we made.
When things don’t go the way we had planned, when we attempt and fail what is our response? Do we pout, do we complain, do we blame the coaches, the leaders, the refs? Do we blame circumstances?
When we blame others, it’s a cop out. Its the easiest way to get off the hook, and trust me, I’ve been there. And what I’ve discovered is, there’s no growth in that. How can you grow if you’re never wrong? How can you develop into a better you, if there is no weakness?
The great ones own the moment. They focus on the things within their control. They control the small things like how they breathe, their self-talk, their body language, their energy, and their communication to others. Their messages are full of hope and belief in a brighter day and a great outcome. They make you believe with their words and actions. They show up and perform great feats.
And we stand in awe of the great ones. We admire those that go the extra mile. Those that know no limit and perform great art. They demonstrate what is possible.
Recognizing we have a choice we take our power back. We are not at the whim of circumstance. We are not a leaf pushed in whatever direction the wind blows.
So when you think to yourself and ask what kind of performer do I want to be? I hope you take back your power. I hope you choose to go all out and focus on the things you can control and make the impossible, possible.
And when you’re faced with this choice just know that you are not alone. You are not alone. You are never alone. I am always with you!
